Jerry Gatewood started his movie career in 1983 when he was cast as an extra in the movie “Teachers” starring Ralph Macchio & Nick Nolte, filmed at the old Central High School in Columbus Ohio.
His next movie extra part was by being in the right place at the right time. While stationed in London England in 1987 with the Air Force, he was cast as an extra in the made for TV mini-series “War and Remembrance”.
Jerry’s movie career went Idle while doing a tour with the Marine Corps as a Navy medic during Desert Storm. Armed with medical knowledge and with the images of death imbedded in his mind, he started a career as a special effects artist for New Illusions Pictures on his first full length feature film “The Absence of Light”
Jerry’s writing career has stemmed from writing for the school paper, college writing class and web site creations. Also being a natural graphics artist and self taught computer geek, this has not hindered his career in the slightest.
Jerry is looking forward with great enthusiasm on continued partnership with New Illusions Pictures and working with the wonderful cast and crew.
